Purpose of Writing a Research Paper
Purpose of Writing a Research PaperWhat is the purpose of writing a research paper? What do you want your readers to know about your topic, and why should they read it? This article attempts to address these questions in a couple of points. It is very easy to summarize a thesis in two sentences, but do you understand that this simply does not work when it comes to explaining a specific point. You cannot summarize everything that you know in one paragraph, for example. What happens is that people tend to skip your points, and just read from top to bottom, without really understanding what you mean. Here are some simple suggestions:* In most cases, you should start with a summary of the more interesting topics. If you can't seem to fit that into a single paragraph, try to divide it into two or three.* The next step is to briefly describe each of the main ideas in a way that will make sense to the reader. At the end of the chapter, this will be one point that the reader will have trouble with.* The fourth point is to finish by summarizing the main points of the thesis. When you finish up the argument, this will be one of the strongest points of the paper.* The last thing to do is to address a few objections and points of disagreement with the main subject. These are best dealt with in a note at the end of the paper.* The final analysis should include a conclusion and a list of recommendations. If you include all of these, then you are doing all you can to make your research interesting. These ideas will help you write a research paper that is valuable to others. With the right combination of paragraphs, you can make a valuable contribution to the overall understanding of your topic.
